and take the Central line to head Eastbound, 
against the rising of the Sun,  
and parallel with the skyline.  
Skyscrapers soar,  
in ignorance to the churning chaos below.  
People of high and low society.  
Dukes and duchesses gliding alongisde mere mortal men.  
Vintage chanel and half-creased air forces,  
Rolls-Royce phantoms and ever-endearing London buses.  
Perpetually in orbit, bound by gravity.  
Students, nurses, single mothers,  
people of all walks of life  
believing the key to the life they wish to lead  
exists within this metropolis.  
Dreams float in the stratosphere,  
with feet firmly planted in the gutter.  
Home to Charlie Chaplin and Alfred Hitchcock,  
David Bowie and Amy winehouse.  
Golden lights glittering in the West End,  
reflected by the gunmetal of Canary Wharf.  
A city of a thousands shades of light and dark,  
but we’d have it no other way.
